HIV Prevention Working Group - Call for interest

'We are pleased to announce the launch of a new BASHH HIV Prevention working group which will run alongside the HIV & BBV SIG. We are looking for motivated, dynamic individuals to help achieve the following aims:

1. Work collaboratively with the BBV SIG to provide clinical expertise on existing and emerging HIV prevention methods

2. Support services and the wider membership to meet increasing PrEP need

3. Utilise BASHH's platform to influence commissioning of HIV prevention services, including delivery of PrEP in primary care

4. Involvement of third-sector and community organisations to advocate for open and equitable access to PrEP

We encourage applications from across the UK, with a particular focus on different sectors and disciplines (e.g. third sector, nurses, pharmacists, health advisors, doctors in training). It is expected we will meet quarterly and hope to produce a number of outputs such as BASHH standards for PrEP services and other resources to support clinics. If you are keen to be involved, please send an expression of interest (max. 200 words) detailing the knowledge and skills you could bring to the group to BASHH admin (admin@bashh.org) by Friday 10th May 2024. Contact Liz (elizabeth.okecha@sthk.nhs.uk) or Hasan (hasan.mirza@nhs.net) directly if you would like more information
